- The ancient Egyptian find features female figure with blue headdress and green dress
- Sarcophagus said to be for teenage girl who wasn’t from a wealthy family
- Find dates back more than 3,000 years

We’ve long been used to The Simpsons predicting the future but now it seems the show was predicted in the past too, as a newly found relic in Egypt bears a strong resemblance to a beloved character.
Familiar characteristics
A Reddit post that has recently surfaced showed an image of a tomb that has been unearthed in Egypt from the New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty – from circa 1189-1069BC, more than 3000 years ago – which has an image of a female figure with yellow skin, a green dress and tall blue headdress.
Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? And it does bear a passing resemblance to the long-suffering Simpsons matriarch, Marge, who has become iconic for her tall, blue hairdo and long green dress over the past 35 years.
The well-preserved sarcophagus is believed to be for a 16-year-old girl, according to the Reddit user who posted the picture. The poster added that her parents may not have had a lot of money so did what they could to make it special, other others have said she could have been a high priest’s daughter.
The internet reacted with many pointing out the similarities to Marge Simpson. One user summed up the general feeling: “Soooo Marge Simpson is actually a 3,000 year old Egyptian Mummy” followed by a crying laughing emoji.
Predicting the future
While it may be a coincidence, it does add to the time-travelling myth associated with the long-running series. In recent years The Simpsons has gained a reputation for predicting the future, such as Donald Trump’s presidency and the Apple Vision Pro, among others.
Is this just the latest part of that? Or perhaps it just says that blue-haired women should be worshipped as goddesses?
