They were once a Hollywood power couple.
But after just two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly set to divorce.
The couple have been plagued with rumors that their relationship is on the rocks for months – but last week, documents showed that Batman actor Affleck, 51, had purchased a new $20.5 million ‘bachelor pad’.
And to add insult to injury, the sale went through on July 24 – JLo’s 55th birthday.
Strangely, despite a fortune of $200 million, Affleck reportedly secured a mortgage of $10 million to purchase the five-bed, five-bath home, situated in equestrian-friendly Sullivan Canyon on the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades.
The house boasts a living room which doubles up as a screening room, a large detached guest house, a horse stable – with walking ring and tack room – and a swimming pool.
Bennifer – living apart
Affleck’s new purchase isn’t the only sign that the pair have called it quits on their marriage.
On July 12, the pair publicly listed their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million.
Affleck – who is still wearing his wedding ring – has been residing in a $100,000-per-month rental home near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, and their three children Samuel, 12, Fin, 15 and Violet, 18,.
According to PEOPLE, Affleck was spotted moving his belongings out of his marital home in late June.
“Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now,” revealed a source. “He seems okay. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids.”
While confirmation of their split hasn’t been announced, Lopez rang in her birthday without Affleck this year.
The pair were first engaged in 2003 after a short romance, but officially called their relationship quits in January 2004.
They later rekindled their romance in April 2021, before Affleck popped the question for a second time a year later.
Just three months after that, the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas, before continuing their celebrations with a lavish wedding at Affleck’s Georgia estate in August 2022.
However, the Gone Girl actor and Lopez have not been pictured together in months amid ongoing rumors of a split, and have spent most of the summer apart on different coasts.
They recently spent their second wedding anniversary apart.
