- New program donates thousands to nonprofit organisations helping single mothers
- Initiative is in memory of his mother, who raised him as a single mother
- Metro Boomin is currently on a North American tour alongside Future

Life is tough for single mothers as Metro Boomin knows only too well having been raised by one – and now, he is helping to make their life a little easier with a new initiative.
Single Moms Are Superheroes
Record producer Metro – real name Leland Tyler Wayne – has set up the Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes grant program. The program – which is named after his late mother – will donate $20,000 to nonprofit organizations that provide support services to single mother. In addition, tickets to all the shows on his tour with Future will also be available.
This is not Metro’s first initiative to support single mothers. The Single Moms Are Superheroes initiative first started seven years ago.
The grant program was first announced late last year in his home city of St Louis, Missouri, where Metro hosted the Leslie Joanne Soiree, which honored 250 single mothers living in the city. Metro also received the key to the city that day.
North American tour
Metro’s We Trust You North America Tour got underway in Kansas City on July 31 and runs until September 9, taking in various venues across America and Canada in that time. At Kansas City, Essential Families became the first nonprofit to receive a grant, and it helped two mothers and their children to attend Metro’s show.
Metro has become known as being one of the most influential producers in hip-hop and trap today, having collaborated with a plethora of stars in recent years, including The Weeknd, Travis Scott, 21 Savage and Young Thug.
