Could we be seeing our favourite neighborhood Spider-Man in theaters again soon? Speculation is mounting that a film could be released in 2026.

Updated release calendar

Marvel Studios has updated its release calendar for the coming years, with two as yet untitled films slated for release in February and November 2026 and fans are wondering if the web-slinger might be filling one of those slots.

There has been speculation about a fourth instalment in the franchise ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in 2022, but little concrete information on when – or if – one would be forthcoming.

Tom Holland, who currently plays the superhero, has previously said that story ideas were being explored, but adding that any story had to be right and not just retread old ground.

Marvel’s head honcho Kevin Feige has also recently said that a script is being worked on.

Filming timescale

In addition, ComicBook.com has reported that Sony – which hold the primary rights to Spidey – legally have to start production on a new film by mid-September 2025 and that film has to be released within two years of that date.

So it could be that Marvel has Spider-Man in mind for one of those 2026 dates. But there are other movies that could also fill those slots. Blade currently doesn’t have a release date and there is potential for an X-Men film too.

So for now, it is watch this space – all will be revealed, in time.
