- Natasha Liu Bordizzo gave fans update at DragonCon
- The first season of Ahsoka was warmly received by Star Wars fans
- Other Star Wars series on Disney+ are ending or haven’t been confirmed to return

For fans of Disney+ show Ahsoka, one of its stars, Natasha Liu Bordizzo shared some disappointing news – they are not likely to see season 2 air for a long time yet.
Filming delay
In an appearance at DragonCon, Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren in the show, revealed that the filming for Ahsoka will not begin until summer 2025. She added that the series won’t air until after The Mandalorian and Grogu film has been released – and that isn’t set to hit theaters until some time in 2026.
This means it could be late 2026 before Ahsoka makes it to screens, which will be more than three years since the first season aired.
Ahsoka was a spinoff from The Mandalorian and takes place at the same time as that series – after the events of Return of the Jedi. The show centres on Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi apprentice, and her allies as they fight against the remnants of the Galactic Empire.
While the delay between seasons is long – even by streaming standards, where two-year gaps aren’t uncommon – there are reasons for this. For instance, it is likely that there will be some crossover elements between The Mandalorian and Grogu and Ahsoka that will affect characters and possibly storylines in Ahsoka season 2.
Lack of shows
But that is not likely to be a comfort for Star Wars fans. Other than Ahsoka, the only other shows on Disney+ set in the Star Wars universe are Andor, which is coming to an end and The Mandalorian, which isn’t confirmed to be coming back to the small screen after its move outing.
