- The movie’s trailer split opinion among fans

She’s the Oscar-nominated star of Enchanted and Arrival.
And now Amy Adams is back with a new movie.
The actor, 50, will star in Nightbitch, which will be released in theaters on December 6.
According to production company Searchlight Pictures, the premise of the movie is that ‘a woman pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom, but soon her domesticity takes a surreal turn’.
But after the trailer for the movie was released on September 3, fans watched as Adams’s character became increasingly frustrated by her life choices – and begins to grow sharp teeth and “fuzzy” hair on her body, turning magically into… a dog.
Other parts of the sneak peak show Adams beginning to exhibit some canine behaviors, which she later embraces – such as eating ferociously, digging holes in the garden and running around the neighborhood with a pack of dogs.
The movie is based on the novel of the same name by American author Rachel Yoder, which was released in 2021.
Fans had plenty to say about Adams’s performance in the preview clip – with some even tipping her for an Oscar, after narrowly missing out on the gong six times in the past for her roles in movies such as American Hustle and Vice.
However, others weren’t convinced about the plot – and seemed baffled by the movie’s synopsis.
