Netflix will produce a docuseries surrounding the charges of sex trafficking and racketeering that are currently being brought against Diddy. And the series will be produced with 50 Cent.
Alexandria Stapleton will direct the project, and spoke with Variety about the series, giving a joint statement to the outlet alongside 50 Cent.
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far. We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, took to social media upon Variety’s sharing of the news, saying, “I been telling y’all about all this weird s**t. I don’t do NO Puffy party’s. You don’t believe me, but I bet you believe me now.” The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ star soon followed this up with a picture of some baby oil, on X, referencing the bottles of oil that were reportedly discovered in Diddy’s homes during raids on his Miami and Los Angeles residences.
Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was arrested in New York last week on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty but has been detained in custody after being denied bail at his appeal hearing.
In May, CNN shared a leaked video which showed Diddy chasing and viciously attacking singer and former girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel. Diddy said he took “full responsibility” for his actions in the video.
