- Greek mythology-based comedy aired in August on Netflix
- Star broke the news on Instagram – although the post has since been deleted
- Fans react with dismay to the news

Greek mythology comedy Kaos has apparently been cancelled by Netflix after just one season.
The show, which starred Jeff Goldblum as the God Zeus, debuted on the streaming service on August 29, and has had mostly favourable reviews.
Charlie Covell (best known for The End of the F***ing World) created the show, which starred Goldblum, as well as Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Aurora Perrineau, Susie Izzard, Billie Piper and others.
Apparent cancellation
However, it now appears that the show has been canned by Netflix. In a post on Instagram – since deleted – Perrineau, who played Eurydice, said the show had been cancelled.
“Well… this one hurts,” the post began. “I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try.
“When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all – every flaw, everything.”
Perrineau’s lengthy post continued saying how proud she was of the show, and of those who made it. She concluded: “Everyone was brilliant and uniquely themselves. Every performance surprised and excited me. I can’t believe I got to do this with all of you. We made something weird, dark, hilarious, deranged and absolutely tragic – something entirely human. THIS is a feeling I plan to take with me.”
The end of the eight-episode first season was left open. Covell had previously spoken to Cosmopolitan in the UK about a plan for three seasons of the show. He said in September: “I really would love to do more and work with those actors and that team [again].” But at the time Netflix had yet to greenlight a second season.
However, Netflix has yet to confirm whether the show has been cancelled.
Dismay at news
So far, fans have reacted to the apparent cancellation with dismay on X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote: “Wtf they’re cancelling Kaos after one season and one month after release??? Netflix is so broken.”
Another wrote: “If Kaos couldn’t make it, it just proves it really wasn’t us, or numbers, or not being good enough. Streaming is so broken.”
Another railed against the trend in streaming for cancelling shows: “So apparently, Netflix canceled Kaos. Why do they even bother making new shows that have great potential and cancel them after one season? You have to binge everything in one day to get more, and even that isn’t enough. This is no fun anymore.”
