- Knull will be one of the main antagonists in Venom: The Last Dance
- The actor playing Knull will be well known to cinema goers
- Actor also has a pre-existing link to the Venom films

After weeks of speculation, the actor who is playing Knull, the God of the Symbiotes in Venom: The Last Dance has been revealed – and it is a famous name.
Kept quiet
Sony has kept its cards close to its chest about Knull and who is playing the King in Black in recent weeks. But now with early reviews now starting to filter through ahead of Venom: The Last Dance’s upcoming theatrical release, it has now been confirmed. The actor taking on the role is veteran actor and filmmaker Andy Serkis – who directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
While Serkis, 60, has passed over the directing reigns to Kelly Marcel for Venom: The Last Dance, he has found a way to be involved. Serkis has made a habit of acting in roles where his character is CGI-based, most notably Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also played King Kong in the 2005 film of the same name. In addition, Serkis played Baloo in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle in 2018, a film he directed himself.
Knull has been spotted in trailers for Venom: The Last Dance, but how big a role he plays in proceedings isn’t clear. What we do know from the trailers is that Venom and Eddie are on the run, with ominous talk of someone having to “make the ultimate sacrifice.”
Possible return
But while Serkis how now been confirmed for the upcoming third – and apparently final – Venom film, it might not be his last outing as the powerful villain. Marcel has said he could be back in future Marvel films. In an interview with IGN, Marcel said: “One movie could never do justice to Knull.”
