Relieving news for the Call of Duty community came today as developers confirm that the notorious combat speciality, Recon, will get a much-needed fix.

This gameplay perk has been getting on the nerves of players and they have been complaining about it online, requesting that it either gets fixed or removed entirely.

The reason behind the fan hate for Recon is that it allows players to see their opponents through walls for a few seconds after they have respawned within the game. Some users have complained that it seems more like an in-built hack and has made a game feel like a one-sided ambush as a result.

Nerfing the Overpowered Perk

In small maps like Nuketown, the chaos is more highlighted as players get instantly spotted and killed by enemies after they respawn, making the combat highly unfair and frustrating.

Recently, Treyarch’s Associate Director of Design, Matt Scronce, replied “Incoming” to the complaint by a player using the handle FaZe Swagg on X, confirming that this overpowered perk will soon be nixed.

Although no specific date has been mentioned just yet, it sounds like the fix could arrive soon. That said, the nature of the fix is still unknown, leaving players guessing whether it will be taken out completely or a counter perk will be introduced in its place.

Players hopeful

Previously the team has responded promptly to complaints and fixed issues in the Double XP weekend event, and now players are hopeful that the team will also take care of nerfing the Recon perk.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been doing exceptionally great since its release and Treyarch is dedicatedly working to provide gamers with the best gameplay experience.
