HBO’s highly acclaimed, award hoarding drama Euphoria will be seeing a third season, according to a network representative.

Created by Sam Levinson, Euphoria has helped launch the careers of several of Hollywood’s hottest rising stars, such as Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Zendaya. But despite relying on the shooting schedules of a heavyweight A-List cast, HBO has finally responded to the cancellation rumours with a pretty forthright response regarding season three.

What Do The Rumors Suggest?

Earlier this week, The InSneider revealed that Euphoria may be on its way out after a messy production process. In his Tweet, he said, “Hearing EUPHORIA is, indeed, dead at HBO and that everyone is walking away from the show.”

This news wasn’t difficult to believe after the production problems that reportedly plagued Euphoria’s second season.

The SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023 also halted filming and production for Euphoria’s third season.

HBO’s Response

Speaking to The Independent, a network representative said, “Euphoria is going into production in 2025. Nothing has changed.” Whether this response was to put an end to these rumors or buy some time to create a definitive production plan for season three is unknown.

Fans have not been happy with the extended waiting period between seasons. Season two premiered a little over two years after season one and, at the current rate, season three is set to premiere more than three years after season two at the earliest.

Returning Cast Members

The main cast is set to return for another season. Although, of course, tragically Angus Cloud, who played drug-dealer-with-a-heart-of-gold, Fezco, passed away last year at the age of 25.

Sheduling wise, Zendaya has a hectic year or two ahead of her in 2025 and 2026. The Challengers and Dune star is set to act in Christopher Nolan’s next film (alongside boyfriend Tom Holland, Matt Damon and Ann Hathaway), Spider-Man 4 and The Drama, alongside Robert Pattinson.

Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi have also transitioned to acting in movies instead of TV since Euphoria propelled them to superstardom. It’s unclear whether a filming schedule that accounts for everyone is even possible in the near future.
