- Rumors hint that it will bring fresh, multiplayer-oriented experiences, moving away from single-player modes.

In a wave of recent leaks surrounding the Pokémon franchise, rumors have emerged that a new multiplayer game is in development, codenamed “Synapse”.
What is Revealed So Far
This tea was first spilled earlier this year when it was claimed to be a part of “Teraleak”(the data of 1 terabyte got leaked) and fans speculated it to be an MMO- a Massive Multiplayer Online game where several players can interact in one world.
This mere guess was turned down when CentroLEAKS- a trusted source within the Pokémon community revealed that the upcoming project is believed to focus more on battles and teamplay.
This game is reportedly a combined project of Game Freak- a company that produces Pokémon installments and ILCA- worked on three projects of this franchise. CentroLEAKS mentioned in X post,
“It’s up! It confirms it’s a new project between ILCA and Pokémon as previously reported. As part of the leaks, a new game with codename Synapse was leaked as in development in collaboration between Game Freak and ILCA.”
To further clarify, the leaker mentioned,
“It’s not a remake. It’s a brand new online multiplayer Pokémon game.”
The Partnership Fueling Pokémon’s Future
Curiosity among the gaming community has touched the sky by finding out about- The Pokémon Works, a newly launched subsidiary by the parent company, raising multiple opinions.
Some fans think that this subordinate company is working on Pokémon Black and White, while others have to say otherwise- directing Synapse. However, CentroLEAKS confirmed that the focus is likely on the multiplayer game, rather than a remake.
While it is early to confirm the entire scope of this new installment it is quite noticeable that the developers are bringing diversity in playing modes- shifting from single-player to multiplayer mode. Sounds like a new era, increasing expectations of players who always wanted to have this battle mode in their favorite game.
Fans are eager to see how this collaboration will turn out, looking forward to more updates.
