- Black Ops 6 loses half its players due to cheating, glitches, and costly cosmetics
- Anti-cheat system and “IDead Bundle” controversies deepen player frustrations
- Activision must act quickly to regain community trust and fix critical flaws

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 doesn’t seem to provide enough satisfaction to players, leaving them frustrated and leading them to quit the game.
Player Exodus: Cheating and Glitches at the Core
Just two months after its release, the game has lost half its players, and the reasons are piling up. From cheating and glitches to infuriating matchmaking and unbearable expenditures to enjoy the game fully, these problems have left fans questioning the game’s future, and many of them are turning away from it.
One of the biggest elements contributing to rotting the gaming experience is the existence of cheaters in matches, creating an unfair environment for dedicated and true players.
However, Treyarch launched the Anti-cheat system, which seemed promising but unfortunately has failed to make the game free from such players. Apart from these, players have reported frequent exploits and glitches.
Additionally, the lack of effective measures to tackle these problems has only fueled anguish among the community.
Controversies Over Bundles and Matchmaking
As if these issues weren’t enough, another significant point of contention is the “IDead Bundle,” including weapon blueprints along with other items, one of the weapon designs making it impossible to shoot as when players aim to shoot, the screen gets blocked.
What added more fuel to the fire was when some users asked for a refund for the unused bundle, they faced nothing but rejection. Despite these complaints, Activision has stood by the product, stating that the effect is “intended behavior.” This refusal to address the issue or offer refunds has left many players feeling cheated.
Moreover, players are so done with the Skill-based matchmaking system (SBMM), which has already been criticized. This system matches individuals with similar skill levels and aims to maintain balance, but in reality, players aren’t enjoying the game this way.
Moreover, the cost of buying cosmetics in the game is weighing on users’ wallets, and they feel that spending this much amount is unnecessary. Recently, the Call of Duty collaboration with Squid Game introduced the rewards, items, and more themed stuff.
Players were excited at first about the overall collab, but now, after purchasing, they realized only some items could be used in matches, disappointing the buyers. The game is struggling badly to retain its player base due to a long list of issues that require developers’ attention.
Otherwise, it can become arduous for the company to repair the loss. Now, the Call of Duty community is losing faith, and Activision must take prompt measures to address these concerns to get their lost fans back.
