The 2024-25 NBA season is rapidly approaching the business end of proceedings.
Both the eastern and western conferences have begun to take shape over the last few weeks, while teams across the league attempt to finalise their rosters by the February 6 trade deadline, in the hope the right moves can have a major impact on the remainder of their season.
The right trades could easily swing a struggling franchise towards the playoffs, which makes the next week so important. However, even great mid-season signings are not always enough to deliver a route to the post-season.
At the time of writing, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat are occupying the coveted top six spots in the eastern conference, while the Oklahoma Thunder, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers and Clippers fill out the top half-dozen in the western.
But a lot can change between now and April, when the regular season draws to a close. And between then and June is even more unpredictable when playoff season arrives.

- Feb. 6: NBA Trade Deadline (3 p.m. ET)
- Feb 14-16: NBA All-Star 2025 (San Francisco, CA)
- Feb. 14-19: NBA All-Star break
- March 1: Playoff Eligibility Waiver Deadline
- April 1: NBA G League Playoffs begins
- April 11: All 30 teams to play
- April 13: NBA Regular Season ends. All 30 teams to play. Seven Eastern Conference games to tip off at 1 p.m. ET. The one cross-conference and seven Western Conference games to tip-off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
- April 14: Rosters set for NBA Playoffs 2025 (3 p.m. ET)
- April 15-18: SoFi Play-In Tournament
- April 19: NBA Playoffs 2025 begin
- May 5-6: Conference Semifinals begin (possible move up to May 3-4)
- May 9-11: NBA G League Combine
- May 11-18: NBA Draft Combine
- May 12: NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm
- May TBD: Western Conference Finals games will air on ESPN and/or ABC. Eastern Conference Finals games will air on TNT.
- June 5: NBA Finals 2025 presented by YouTube TV – Game 1 on ABC
- June 8: NBA Finals 2025 presented by YouTube TV – Game 2 on ABC
- June 11: NBA Finals 2025 presented by YouTube TV – Game 3 on ABC
