A Britney Spears biopic is coming, but it is missing the all-important actress to play the beloved pop princess.
Wicked director Jon M. Chu has already signed on to helm the film, which will be based on Spears’ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me.
The book grabbed headlines as it settled scores about her ex Justin Timberlake, spilled about the controversial conservatorship she was under for years and other juicy secrets.

According to Chu, speaking at on the Golden Globes red carpet, the Toxic hitmaker is set to be “very involved” in the project, which is still in its infancy. This includes having lots of opinions on who will play her.
While chatting to reporters, Chu added that he has seen all “the fan casting” on social media and is keeping his eyes peeled for a “good idea”.

Selena Gomez was tipped by a secret source to Life & Style magazine as a favourite of Spears’ to play her in her biopic due to her talent and their shared experience as a child star.

The insider also explained that Natalie Portman was someone the Womanizer singer “adores” and could imagine in the role with the right makeup.
Is Addison Rae a right fit for the Britney Spears biopic?
TikTok legend Addison Rae was one of the fan choices to front any Britney Spears biopic due to their similarities, namely their pop career and shared Louisiana background.
