Viewers were shocked to see CNN host Anderson Cooper hit in the head with Hurricane Milton debris while reporting on the storm live from Florida.

The shocking moment happened shortly after the storm – which has ravaged Florida and forced its booming tourism trade to grind to a halt – made landfall yesterday with 120-mile-per-hour winds.

In a short clip shared by X users on social media, Anderson can be seen battling intense rain and winds while reporting from Bradenton in Florida. While showing viewers the amount of water covering the ground, a large, grey piece of debris is blown directly into his face.

“Woah! That wasn’t good,” exclaims Anderson, clearly taken aback.

That said, being a professional, the incident didn’t deter him from his job and he can be seen picking up right where he left off with his hurricane reporting.

Viewers who caught the moment live were quick to post it to social media. Meanwhile, the moment can be seen more clearly via the official CNN website.

Hurricane Milton chaos

Anderson isn’t the only weather presenter to have found themselves in Hurricane Milton’s way.

Over on The Weather Channel, Their in-house host Jim Cantore was seen taking shelter in a car garage that was quickly taken over by rising water levels from the nearby Charlotte Harbor.

This too was captured on social media. Watch it below:

Disney dance parties entertain during storm

Meanwhile, Disney World has shuttered its doors alongside fellow theme parks Universal Studios and SeaWorld, and one of Orlando’s major airports. All will stay closed until at least Thursday 10 October while Hurricane Milton passes.

Those visiting Disney World have taken to TikTok to share their experiences of being stuck in resorts during the storm, with one user revealing that staff were hosting Disney dance parties to help pass the time.

“Only Disney would have dance parties during hurricanes…” read the caption for a video posted by user @khloeeee_spamm.

It’s not all fun and games though. According to a report by Forbes, Disney staying closed is an expensive piece of downtime.

Their sources spoke to financial experts at Goldman Sachs who suggested that the closure will result in the resorts losing around “$150 – £200 million” from their next quarterly earnings.
