Sean Baker’s anti-fairytale emerged as the big winner at last night’s Oscars. So how can you watch Best Picture Oscar winner Anora at home?

Baker’s story follows a sex worker who sparks an unlikely romance with the rich son of a Russian Oligarch. The film fought off tough competition from the likes of The Substance, religious drama Conclave and Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist to take home the evening’s top award.

The film originally hit cinemas back in October 2024 and has since become a sleeper hit with audiences. That said, critics and awards bodies loved it immediately. In addition to taking home Best Picture at last night’s Oscars, Anora also snagged a number of other wins. These included Best Director for Baker, Best Actress for star Mikey Madison, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing.

Madison’s win beat out Demi Moore’s performance in body horror The Substance. It was a role that many thought would bring the Hollywood icon Oscar gold.

Meanwhile, Adrian Brody won in the Best Actor category for his performance in Corbet’s historical drama The Brutalist.

Anora tells a modern fairytale story of a Brooklyn sex worker whose life is turned upside down when she sparks an unlikely relationship with the son of a Russian Oligarch.

Their whirlwind romance starts off at a rapid pace, leading the couple to get married on a whim whilst in Las Vegas. However, when the super wealthy parents of Anora’s new husband catch wind of their newly confirmed nuptials, all hell breaks loose.

While their new marriage is on the path to being annulled, Anora finds a new connection with a Russian bodyguard sent to ensure their marriage doesn’t last any longer than necessary.
