Since November 22, Ariana Grande has been wowing theater goers with her performance as Glinda in Wicked.

But fans of the pop star, 31, were left disappointed this week – as it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to catch her in a live show for quite some time.

Rumors that Grande – who has earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the 2003 Broadway musical adaptation – would be embarking on her next tour began swirling after a string of shows apparently appeared on Ticketmaster.

However, these were quickly debunked by her label, Republic Records.

In a statement posted to Twitter/X, the company wrote, “There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support and excitement.”

The tour was predicted to support her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, which was released on March 8 this year.

It would follow the Sweetener World Tour, which ran from March 2019 to December 2019, and celebrated her albums Sweetener and Thank U, Next.

Could Ariana Grande be doing a mini-tour?

Although it’s obvious that Grande’s fans across the globe will have to wait a little longer for the Dangerous Woman singer to put on her next world tour, all hope is not lost – as she has previously teased a potential mini-tour for next year.

Back in July, Grande told host Evan Ross Katz on his podcast, Shut Up Evan, “’I still want it, too.

“I think it would be a really lovely idea to be able to trickle in some show in between the two Wicked films. I think there’s a version of that that exists.”

Grande explained it would likely be a “mini sampling of shows” rather than a massive world tour “for a multitude of reasons”.

After posing the idea of a mini-tour, she said, “I do think it’d be really nice to do that, and it’s something my team and I are working on coming up with options for.”

Ariana Grande ‘eyes up horror movie’

While Grande has previously “pinky-promised” fans that she will never give up her music career, she has also revealed on the Wicked press tour that she wants to concentrate on acting for a while.

And perhaps a horror movie could be on the cards – after Grande recently admitted her love of the genre, and described one recent part as a “dream role”.

In a conversation with Paul Mescal for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Grande attempted to get the Gladiator II star hooked on the thrillers.

“I can’t watch horror for love nor money. I cannot,” Mescal laughed. “I saw Longlegs recently. F*** me, cannot do it.”

But Grande persevered.

“That, and Late Night with the Devil were my two favourites of the year for horror,” she explained. “You have to see it, even just for the performance, you have to see it. It’s so brilliant.

“But isn’t that, Nicolas Cage’s role in that, isn’t that just kind of a dream role? That’s fun. That’s a great time.”
