Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to release on 20 March 2025, and players have been eagerly waiting for Ubisoft’s highly anticipated game. However, out of the blue, some players got access to the game before the launch, and they are playing it also sharing screenshots.
Unexpected Leak: What Happened?
As per reports, both physical and digital versions have been out mistakenly, and this has resulted in excitement along with concerns, as fans fear they might get spoilers before the official launch.
A user on Reddit dropped the image of Assassin’s Creed Shadows copies for PS5 being sold. While the fans are skeptical about these, the image seems quite convincing.
Now, the major question is how these copies got leaked before the set date. Some believe that either it is an accident or the store employees have released them intentionally.
At the same time, others have to say that the ion surface has been edited. Although it can be fake, such incidents have happened in the past, so if the leak turns out true, fans may prepare themselves to deal with spoilers that may ruin all the thrill and curiosity ahead of the release. Adding more to the thrill, the leak on Reddit shared by r/GamingLeaksAndRumours says that:
- Someone bought a copy of the PS5 and uploaded proof, and the game is fully playable for him.
- Animus Anomalies are confirmed to be returning.
- The person who bought the copy says he loves the game so far, and according to him, “it’s the best one since Black Flag.”
- It’s a much older build with none of the improvements added in from the delays.
The user has also shared the image displaying Naoe’s Death Whisperer weapon, video, and a gameplay clip. Moreover, (Via Gamingbolt), popular YouTuber the Hidden Ones claims that someone he knows is playing a digital version of the game on PS5.
PlayStation Store Error or Something Bigger?
According to his sources, a mistake in the PlayStation Store may have led to such incident, allowed few players to lay hands on the game. Right now, no official statement or information has arrived, and fans are just assuming the possible reasons.
It can also be due to the PSN outrage that happened during the earlier week of this month. However, the actual cause is still in question, and to resolve this mystery, players will have to wait for Ubisoft’s official statement.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has all eyes on it as the game holds immense significance when it comes to the company’s survival in this competitive gaming industry; this leak could impact the launch.
For now, the launch date is sticking to the plan, as it has already been delayed until March, and Ubisoft hasn’t made any changes. Still, the company has to provide the clarification to settle the situation.
