In news we understandably never imagined we would share, BLACKPINK star Lisa is courting controversy after appearing to have an image of civil rights activist Rosa Parks embroidered into her underwear at last night’s Met Gala.

The Thai rapper, who recently starred in the third season of the White Lotus, has been a hot topic of discussion since the event last night after viewers and attendees caught sight of the Louis Vuitton underwear that made up part of her outfit.

The gala ran with the theme of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ this year, which ties in with The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring exhibition, celebrating the history of Black fashion and dandyism.

However, many viewers took umbrage with Lisa’s apparent decision to wear one of the most iconic civil rights activists in history as a piece of embroidery on her underwear.

Social media, as ever, was alight for it.

Same Design Commissioned By Pharrell

However, as reported by Vogue, artist Henry Taylor embroidered portraits into the BLACKPINK star’s outfit and has been previously commissioned by Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director and co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, to embroider the same design for the brand’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 show.

According to a statement by Louis Vuitton, the lace depicts “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life.”
