Lalisa Manobal, or Lisa is another huge star who joined the cast of The White Lotus season 3. Season 3 of the HBO hit premiered on 16 February after lots of anticipation. The show follows guests and staff at a luxury resort with mysteries, secrets, and intrigue. The Blackpink star joined the cast in February 2024 alongside Jason Isaacs and Patrick Schwarzenegger. It is her acting debut.
In the new season, Lisa plays Mook, a hotel worker and wellness adviser at a luxury resort in Thailand. Although her exact role hasn’t become prominent in the series yet, fans are still abuzz about anything Lisa does. She shot to fame as part of the K-pop band Blackpink and had a successful solo career.

The new season is on air and so is Lisa in her debut. So before we see Mook again or before she dies, let’s break down who Lisa is.
Who is Lisa?
Lisa was born on 27 March 1997 in Buriram Province, Thailand. She is an only child and is the daughter of Chitthip Brüschweiler. The 27-year-old went to school at Praphamontree School I and II. Impressively she is fluent in a few languages. Her native language is Thai but she speaks fluent Korean and English.
From a young age, the Blackpink star was a dancer and she competed regularly in competitions. She joined a dance crew, We Zaa Cool which she competed with in 2009. In 2010, she auditioned to join the prestigious label YG Entertainment, she qualified and was accepted to begin training. She became a background dancer and a model at this time to build her profile as a performer.
Blackpink and Career Beginnings
In 2016, Lisa made her musical debut in the K-pop group Blackpink with their debut album Square One. Their debut made them become one of the biggest girlbands on the planet, as the album instantly went to number one on iTunes.
To grow their audience worldwide, they signed with Interscope Records in 2016 alongside YG as their current label. During her time in the group, Lisa would post on her YouTube channel Lilifilm which she launched in 2018. The channel has over 11 million subscribers and chronicles Lisa’s life. Sometimes she posts music and dance videos, but the channel hasn’t been active for over a year.
Solo career
She might’ve been one of the last, but she wasn’t the only one! In April 2021, it was announced that she would debut as a solo artist. In September 2021, Lisa released her first album as a soloist, Lalisa. She broke Taylor Swift’s YouTube record for the most viewed video by a solo artist in 24 hours with her single.
An incredible achievement for a debut!
With the release of Lalisa, she broke more records becoming the first female soloist to surpass the 500,000-copy mark in one week. Her follow-up single Money did well in South Korea as well as on the US chart.
In August 2022, Lisa won the MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop star for her album Lalisa. She was the first ever K-pop solo artist to win the award. For her groundbreaking impact on the Korean music industry, she earned 3 Guinness World Records! One she earned by being the most followed K-pop artist on Instagram. Currently she has 105 million followers on Instagram.
Acting and album debuts
Lisa continued as a part of Blackpink and in 2023 she and the band became Honorary Members of the Order of the British Empire. A random accolade we didn’t see coming!
In 2024 she launched her own management company Lloud. In April 2024 in collaboration with her company, Lisa signed to RCA Records, an American label. In the summer of 2024, she went on to release another single for another solo project, Rockstar, which earned her her first US number one. Later that summer she followed up with another single New Woman which featured Spanish icon Rosalía.
In October, she released Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me). After performing at a show, Lisa announced some big news in September 2024, she announced her debut album Alter Ego. Alter Ego is set to release on 28 February.
Acting debut in the White Lotus season 3
Lisa’s next big career move was her acting debut in The White Lotus season 3. Ahead of the release of the new season, she said she was “nervous” and wasn’t sure what acting role she wanted to do next. Lisa currently doesn’t have any other acting roles lined up, but we’re sure the phone will be ringing once The White Lotus finishes airing!
