- The as-yet-untitled film will be released in 2025
- Filming is ongoing and will take place at several Grand Prix events over the remainder of the year
- As well as Brad Pitt a stellar cast in involved in the film

The long-awaited Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt has finally been given an official release date by Apple Original Films and Formula 1.
The film, which has had a long gestation period, will finally hit theaters around the world on June 25, 2025, and North America two days later. It has also been confirmed that Warner Bros will distribute the film around the world and in IMAX.
Returning star
Pitt will star in the film as Sonny Hayes, who had been a Formula 1 star but retired after a horrific crash. But he is tempted back to the grid by APXGP where he acts as a mentor to his rookie teammate as they battle against the other teams and drivers.
The film – which is still to get to get a title – has been made in collaboration with Formula 1, as well as Lewis Hamilton’s Dawn Apollo Films company. Jerry Bruckheimer is on board as producer.
Filmed in real time
This film has garnered a lot of interest as it has been filmed in real-time during various Grand Prix around the world and involves the Formula 1 community – including all 10 teams and the 20 drivers. Filming is still in progress and will be seen at several races later this year, including the British Grand Prix in July and the season-ending race at Abu Dhabi in December.
As well as Pitt, there is a stellar cast involved, including Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies and Callie Cooke, among others.
Producer Bruckheimer is a busy man too, as he is also working on a reboot of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
