Dearest reader, we are finally being fed more Bridgerton season 4 content, as Netflix dropped a new Benedict and Sophie teaser. The hit Netflix period drama is already set for multiple seasons, based on the books by Julia Quinn.

Each book corresponds with a season of the show, and season 4 will focus on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his love interest Sophie Baek. (Yerin Ha).

Furthermore, Netflix gave fans a taste of the love story, as Netflix described season 4: “Unwilling to settle down like his brothers, his perspective changes when he encounters a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Also announced by the streamer officially was the go-ahead for seasons 5 and 6 of the show.

On 14 May, Netflix released a teaser for Bridgerton season 4.

What happened in the teaser for Bridgerton season 4?

Netflix announced back in September 2024 that production for season 4 had begun. Now they have released a sneak peek at Benedict seeing Sophie for the first time at Violet’s masquerade party.

A video posted to the show’s social media pages had a revealing caption: “My, my… It seems as though someone has finally caught the attention of Mr. Benedict Bridgerton. Bridgerton Season 4 arrives 2026,” it read.

In a short teaser, Benedict is wandering aimlessly through the masquerade party, trying to avoid the thirsty young ladies. As he turns around, he spots Sophie staring up at a glittering chandelier above her. Wondrously, she stares at the impressive light, as if never seeing one before.

Meanwhile, Sophie, none the wiser, does not notice our Bridgerton gentlemen at all. Just when it seems as if he is going to approach her, a man asks her if he can dance. Unaware of Benedict, Sophie complies.

Fans were excited by the announcement and the random teaser drop. By fans of the books, Benedict and Sophie’s story is one of the favorites.

How did fans react to Bridgerton season 4

Excited fans flooded the comments expressing their happiness.

“BENEDICT BRIDGERTON FALLING IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT AAAH,” gushed one user on X.

“Okay, I’ll re-read An Offer From a Gentleman,” said another fan.

An Offer From a Gentleman is the book that details Sophie and Benedict’s love story.

“Life is worth living,” commented another fan.

However, other fans were disappointed by the 2026 release date announcement.

One user commented, “Spending 2 years to record a season of 10 episodes is wild.”

To be fair, we used to get a new TV show season every year with 20-plus episodes.

Another was said about the wait. “2026 tho?!” the user questioned, attaching a GIF of Eloise Bridgerton’s classic “you must make haste” line.

What does Netflix say about future seasons?

On the Bridgerton social media pages, a statement reveals the show has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6.

The statement reads, “Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly.”

It continues, “And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves, for season 4 shall debut in 2026. It would seem this author is going to be quite busy. Yours truly, Lady Whistledown”.
