It is Chinese New Year this week and is celebrated by millions across Asia and around the world, with families and friends coming together to celebrate the season, with plenty of food and fireworks involved.

In Chinese tradition, each year is represented by one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. The animals are rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, moneky, rooster, dog and pig. Each year is dedicated to one of the 12 animals, and it goes in 12-year cycles – so the previous year of the horse was 2014. Last year was the year of the snake.

This year is the year of the horse, which is a symbol of forward movement, independence and endurance.

Jackie has been on screen for 60 years and has become iconic for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing and innovative stunts – which he usually performs himself. Clint Eastwood

Veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood was born in 1930. He made his name in the Western series Rawhide and has since gone on to have a movie career lasting decades, appearing in iconic films such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966), Dirty harry (1971) and Unforgiven (1992). In later years he also made successful movies as a director, including Gran Torino in 2008.

Gordon Ramsay

Chef, entrepreneur and friend of Pubity, Gordon Ramsay was born in … The Scottish chef has had a stellar career. After his dreams of becoming a professional footballer were ended by injury, he turned his attention to cooking and trained as a chef, working in top restaurants before opening his own, which won various Michelin stars. Gordon then turned his attentions to TV, winning a legion of fans for his, ahem, blunt, style, and has starred in various programmes in the past 20 years on both sides of the Atlantic, most memorably with Kitchen Nightmares.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence was born in 1990. The American actress and producer made her name in The Hunger Games film series as Katniss Everdeen – a role she will be reprising in the upcoming prequel film. Jennifer was also the first person born in the 1990s to win an acting Oscar and is the youngest actress to be nominated for an Oscar three times.

Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler entered the world in 1966. He first rose to prominence as a cast member of Saturday night Live from 1990-95. On leaving SNL, Adam embarked on a hugely successful movie career, often playing in comedic romantic leading roles in movies such as Happy Gilmore (1996), The Wedding Singer (1998). Latterly, he has made numerous movies for Netflix including Murder Mystery (2019) and Sandy Wexler (2017).

Zoe Saldana

Zoe was born in 1978 and has starred in some of the biggest grossing movies of all time, including Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.
