- Chris Pratt has said that Star-Lord will return to the MCU
- Speculation is that he will appear in Avengers: Doomsday
- Star-Lord is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy

Chris Pratt has teased that Star-Lord, who he plays in the MCU movies, will return to the franchise – but has stopped short of saying which movie he will be in.
In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he was promoting the new movie he is starring in, The Electric State, Pratt was asked if he will be returning as Star-Lord in Avengers: Doomsday.
Pratt did remind the audience that in the post-credits scene at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, the message ‘The Legendary Star-Lord will return’ was displayed on screen. He added that “we will make good on that promise.”
However, Pratt stopped short of saying that he will be in Avengers: Doomsday, or another one of the MCU films in development. Joking about Marvel’s legendary policy of secrecy, he said that a sniper may be watching him, so he would “say no more”.
Who is in Avengers: Doomsday
There is plenty of speculation currently about which characters will be in Avengers: Doomsday. Thus far, it has only been confirmed that Doctor Doom will be the main antagonist, and that he will be played by Robert Downey Jr, making his return to the MCU, having played Iron Man for many years until the character (spoiler alert!) was killed off.
Production for Avengers: Doomsday begins in April in London. This means that any MCU star (or famous actor in general) who is spotted in the English capital city from now until then will inevitably be linked with the movie. Here is all we know about Avengers: Doomsday.
Of course, Pratt could star in his own Star-Lord movie. He and James Gunn, who worked on Guardians trilogy, did discuss a movie focusing on Star-Lord returning to Earth and his struggles to reintegrate having been away for many years. But with Gunn leaving to helm the reboot of the DC Universe, this idea may have been shelved.
Upcoming Chris Pratt films
Pratt is a busy man, currently. As mentioned, he is starring in Netflix’s upcoming movie, The Electric State alongside Millie Bobby Brown, among others. The movie, set in an alternate 1990s tells the story of how sentient robots and humans manage to co-exist between the two. Here is everything we know about The Electric State, which is released on March 14.
He will also be seen in sci-fi thriller Mercy alongside Rebecca Ferguson, which comes out in August.
