- Coachella is an American music festival held in Palm Springs, California
- Weekend one took place from 11 to 13 April
- Online, some users showed the ‘rich side’ of Coachella, baffling the internet

Coachella weekend one has finished, and the influencers and celebrities have left the Palm Springs desert. Although that doesn’t mean that those with expensive tickets didn’t show off their setup on what is being called the ‘rich side’ of Coachella. Baffled social media users have expressed their confusion at the price of luxury tickets.

To summarize, here are the price lists for the different packages, as advertised on the festival’s website.
- General Admission – From $649 weekend one, from $599 weekend two
- GA with Shuttle – From $779 for weekend one, $679 for weekend two
- 4-Pack GA – From $589 for weekend one, $539 for weekend two
- VIP – Weekend one from $1,339, from $1,199 weekend two
However, this doesn’t even cover the costs of camping at the festival. Premium camping packages range from $3,423 to over $10,000, including options like Lake Eldorado tents and lodges (with GA or VIP passes for 2–4 people) and ultra-luxurious Safari Camping, which starts at $10,000 for two and includes guest passes and golf cart transport.
Ultimately, the cheapest camping option is car camping, costing from $160. Now, social media is weighing in on those who paid thousands of dollars for the luxury experience at the festival.

The tour of the ‘luxury’ Coachella
In a video by TikTok user @kaylaontour, social media users can see a glimpse into the luxury side of the festival beyond the general admission tickets.
Visible in the video is what the Safari Camping Package tickets get you, which costs $10,00 for two people. Some people thought the ticket was good value, as it includes guest passes and golf cart transportation.
For users, Kayla shows the furnished tent, complete with air conditioning, and the breakfast tent, where there appears to be a coffee and a baked goods section accessible for Safari campers. In follow-up videos, the TikToker showed that the breakfast changed every day.

The TikToker is a travel content creator and has over 100,00 followers on the app.

How did the internet react?
Internet users were fascinated and confused by the price and what they got with the luxury package.

Despite what is included in the package, one user argued, “You could literally go on an amazing vacation for that amount of money”.
Honestly, $10,000 could get you a nice trip.
A second user made a similar point, and said, “For 3 days at Coachella? For 10K? You could go almost anywhere you wanted for a 5-day trip with that money”.

Meanwhile, other users were more horrified about not having a private bathroom for that amount of money. In case it wasn’t obvious, the bathrooms at Coachella are shared spaces.

Commenting on the lack of bathroom, the user said: “10k and a porta potty. For 10k you could have bought a used camper WITH a bathroom and used it for multiple years”.
Yes, that is true, and if you had a camper, you could go on many cross-country road trips with it.
Regardless of the criticism, some users saw the value in the prices.
Coachella Safari is worth it, according to some users
On the other hand, one user saw the value of the tickets differently. Instead, they pointed out that if the tickets were split between four people, the maximum number of people per tent, it is a good value.
Approximately that would cost each person $3k to “meet all your favorite artists,” the user reasoned.

Similarly, another user equated the value of tickets, only this time referencing the backstage passes to justify the price. Consequently, they wrote in a comment, “The reason it costs so much is because it comes with guest passes, which get you backstage access and can’t be purchased separately”.

Even if you don’t have the money, it is a fair point. For some people, meeting their favorite artists is like a lifeline to them. Therefore, if they have the money, why not let them spend their money on it?
While others were assessing the value of the tickets, other users were questioning why people care so much about how others spend their money.

“Damn yall just let rich people be rich 😆 who cares what they COULD have spent 10k doing. They chose to stay in tents! Let them live,” the user said.
Stay tuned for updates on Coachella weekend two.
