Wicked star Cynthia Erivo can add another role to her resume, well, 23 of them, to be exact. The 38-year-old will play 23 roles in a one-woman show of Bram Stoker’s Dracula in London’s West End next year.
Erivo is no stranger to playing multiple roles. In a season 2 episode of Pokerface, she played five roles. In the episode, Erivo played five identical sisters, an experience she described as “totally insane”.
However, next year Erivo will focus on the stage.

Which version of Dracula will Cynthia Erivo star in?
The English actress will star in the one-woman show adapted by Kip Williams for the Sydney Theatre Company. In February 2026, Erivo will make her debut in the adaptation in its first international run.
Previously the singular show starred Zahra Newman who took on the role in 2024.
The performances will take place at the Noel Coward Theatre, close to Leicester Square.
Regardless of the complexity of the role, Erivo will take on all 23 characters, including the bloodthirsty Count, as well as supporting roles. There is something for her to sink her teeth into!
If you are wondering, the supporting roles include original characters from the novel. But how will they simulate Dracula sucking Mina Harker’s blood? Bit weird, that one.
Erivo will play the role for a few months beginning on 4 February 2026 and ending on 31 May.
However, it has been made clear that although Erivo has some pipes on her, the show is not a musical. Regardless, reports say she will sing in the show, one song, composed by Clemence Williams towards its end.
Don’t worry, rehearsals for the show don’t begin until December 2025, so the actress still has some time to get stuck into the role.
Has Erivo been on stage before?
Yes, Erivo has been active in the theatre before. Nine years ago, Erivo starred in The Color Purple. Her performance was praised by critics, and she won a Tony Award for her work.
Reportedly Erivo was approached about Dracula during the Wicked press tour. In order to prepare for the role, she watched a video of the Sydney production.
She also attended the March premiere of The Picture of Dorian Gray, which Williams also helped to adapt from Oscar Wilde’s novel.
