Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, with online jail records showing the dancer was booked into Napa County jail at 10.40am on the morning of August 29.
Chigvintsev has been married to former WWE Superstar Nikki Garcia (known as Nikki Bella during her in-ring career) since 2022. The couple had been dating since 2019 after meeting on Dancing With The Stars, where they had been paired together for the series. They also have a son, Matteo, together, who was born in 2020.
It has not yet been disclosed by law enforcement officials about what led to Chigvintsev’s arrest, nor have any details about the alleged victim been made available. The 42-year-old Russian dancer was released from jail on Thursday afternoon after posting $25,000 bail.
Three days prior to Chigvintsev’s arrest, both he and Garcia had posted on their respective Instagram accounts, celebrating their anniversary.
With no information about the arrest currently forthcoming, it is unclear if Garcia was involved in the incident.
Chigvintsev will not be part of the upcoming 33rd season of DWTS, although he was not booked for the season before this news broke.
