- Reports that a movie featuring the two iconic Batman villains is being developed
- Bane and Deathstroke have become fan favorite villains in past 40 years
- Project is at an early stage

With DC villains all the rage on the big and small screens right now, it should be no surprise that a movie featuring two of Batman’s biggest foes should be in development.
Script in development
The Hollywood Reporter has reported that DC is working on a script for a joint Bane and Deathstroke movie. Matthew Orton – who recently worked on the script for Captain America: Brave New World – is said to be writing a script for a movie.
However, the project is at an early stage, and as yet there is no director attached to the project, let alone any actors cast.
Bane and Deathstroke have become two of Batman’s biggest villains in recent decades. Bane emerged in the early 1990s. He was born and raised in a prison, which schooled him in criminality. But when a steroid test he was involved in went wrong – don’t they all? – he was left with superhuman strength, but an addiction to serums. His most iconic moment came in a story called ‘Knightfall’ where he broke Batman’s back. in movies, he was played by Tom Hardy in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
Meanwhile Deathstroke started out in 1980 as a villain for the Teen Titans to battle. He quickly became very popular and has since faced off against Batman on various occasions and has headlined his own comic. However, he has yet to appear on film – although he initially was going to be the main villain in The Batman, before there was a change of heart.
Villains enjoy limelight
DC villains are enjoying films and series that are not necessarily connected to The Dark Knight currently. The much-anticipated sequel Joker: Folie a Deux opens in theaters in October, and The Penguin series on HBO, starring Colin Farrell, has had large viewing figures.
