Death Note Upcoming Videogame Leak

The mystery surrounding Death Note seems far from over as the gaming world is whispering about its return- not in the form of anime or movie this time, but a videogame.

As per Gematsu reports, a thrilling news leak just surfaced through the Taiwan Digital Game rating CommitteeDeath Note: Killer Within is all set to be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and will be published by Bandai Namco.

The Chinese title of the game appeared to be Death Note: Shadow Mission, now the English title has been confirmed- Death Note: Killer Within. Fans who have been waiting nearly two decades to hear something new can cheer up now.

Though the details about the gameplay and plots are still not known yet confirmation is enough to stir up excitement.  The most cherishing part of this leak is the availability of a game on modern consoles.

Last time in 2008 when the franchise ventured into the gaming world it came up with a Japan-exclusive game only – L the ProLogue to Death Note: Spiraling Trap. Due to this fans outside the country could only imagine having it.

Also timing of this leak is perfect enough to lift up the mood of fans disappointed by the 2027 Netflix movie which couldn’t meet their expectations. Many have been left wanting more, dark and cunning, something portraying the true essence of the original series.

For those unfamiliar with Death Note is the story of Light Yagami, a brilliant student, who stumbles upon a notebook – a supernatural one, and can kill anyone by just writing the person’s name on it.

It is an ultimate battle between the Light and eccentric detective L that makes the series intense and deeply psychological. No further details have been shared regarding the game and players are only left to assume in which direction it will go.

Whatever the case may be, the return of Death Note will surely reignite the obsession of a dedicated fan base for of dark and twisted universe.
