Are you ready for another 104 days of summer vacation? The wait is coming to an end with details shared on the Phineas and Ferb revival.
Returning stars
Phineas and Ferb’s co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh revealed information at the New York Comic Con.
Firstly, the voice cast appears to be intact. Vincent Martella is returning as Phineas, with David Errigo Jr as Ferb. Errigo Jr first voiced Ferb in the 2020 movie Candace Against The Universe, taking over from original voice actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster. Ashley Tisdale resumes as meddling sister Candace, Caroline Rhea plays mum Linda, Dee Bradley Baker is the enigmatic Perry the Platypus. Povenmire of course continues to voice scientist and antagonist Dr Heinz Doofenschmirtz and Marsh is Major Francis Monogram.
There will also be an illustrious cast of guest stars too. However, Disney has yet to elaborate more than saying it will include notable actors, musicians, athletes and more.”
So far, two seasons are scheduled to be made for Disney+, with the first of those making it to air in 2025.
Beloved series
The original series ran for four seasons from 2007 to 2015. There were also two made-for-TV films, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension in 2011 and Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe in 2020. The show had high ratings and spawned a range of merchandise.
The show centres on the adventures of the titular stepbrothers, who look for innovative ways to fill the ‘104 days of summer vacation’ referenced in the song over the opening titles. Their sister, Candace, tries to expose their escapades to their mother. In addition, their pet platypus, Perry, goes off on his own adventures every episode as the mysterious Agent P, whose sole aim is to thwart the plans of Dr Doofenschmirtz.
Also at New York Comic Con, it was confirmed when another upcoming Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again, will make it to air.
