- This is believed to be the first time a major brand has launched a fragrance for pets
- Fragrance is named after the company co-founder’s beloved dog
- But if you want your pooch to have the latest fragrance – it isn’t cheap

To the world of luxury fashion – for pets. We all like to pamper our pets, but what about a pet perfume? Well, world-renowned luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana has just launched its first fragrance for dogs.
Fresh and delicate
The fragrance, called Fefé – named after company co-founder Domenico Dolce’s faithful pet – ‘blends fresh and delicate notes of Ylang Ylang, Musk and Sandalwood’ according to the Dolce & Gabbana website. The alcohol-free mist is billed as ‘a tender and embracing fragrance crafted for a playful beauty routine.’
In addition, the perfume comes in a striking green bottle with a 24-carat gold plated paw print on it. The price is striking too – a bottle costs a cool $99.
While dog perfumes have been available for some years, they are generally produced by specialist pet care companies, rather than luxury fashion houses, and are often retailed at a less premium price.
Safety tested
But the logic is sound: sometimes our pets can smell less than fresh – just like their human counterparts – so why not spritz a little scented mist?
Dolce & Gabbana emphasise that Fefé is Safe Pet Cosmetics certified, approved by vets and safety tested. In consumer tests with dog owners, 90% agreed that the scent lasted all day.
Domenico Dolce established Dolce & Gabbana in 1985 alongside fellow designer Stefano Gabbana. Since then, the Milan-based company has become a world-renowned luxury fashion brand with thousands of employees and revenues of $1.5 billion in 2021. It specialises in ready-to-wear fashion, handbags, accessories, cosmetics and fragrances, as well as licencing its name and branding for eyewear.
