- Donald Trump could ban a group of UK lawyers from entering the US
- One of them could be Amal Clooney, actor George Clooney’s wife
- This follows their investigation into Israel’s war crimes in Gaza and beyond

Amal Clooney could be barred from entering the United States by President Donald Trump.
George Clooney’s wife is one of a group of UK lawyers who have been warned about facing sanctions from the current administration. This could mean they would not be able to enter the country.

According to the Financial Times, Amal is facing being backlisted from the States because of her work giving legal advice to the International Criminal Court.
Along with other barristers, she has been helping compile the case that Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank. Some of the plaintiffs include the country’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant.
The speculation comes after Trump passed an Executive Order, titled ‘Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court,’ which imposed the first related sanctions on Karim Khan, a lawyer connected to the case.
If more are given out, Amal, a British citizen, could be barred from entering the US, where she lives part of the time with her husband, George.
What could she do to fight this?
Legal experts have implied that any attempt to bar their entry could be fought in federal court. However, until the case was settled, Amal and others would not be able to set foot on US soil.
