Trump’s proclamation came the same day that the Commerce Department declared the national economy went down by 0.3 per cent during the first period of 2025.
Obviously, Trump placed the blame squarely at the feet of the previous post holder, President Joe Biden.
“This is Biden’s stock market, not Trump’s,” he wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

However, Trump, who many believe will attempt to unconstitutionally run for a third presidential term, later clarified that he was joking.
“I don’t have a preference. I might say we have a cardinal that happens to be out of a place called New York who is very good,” he said, referring to Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
