Good news for her legions of fans – Emily Cooper will be staying in Paris for the foreseeable future as the show has been renewed for another season.

Lily Collins, who plays the titular character, announced the news on Good Morning America.

Huge success

The confirmation of the series’ renewal comes a month after season 4 dropped on Netflix. The renewal of Emily in Paris should come as no surprise as season 4 went straight to the top of Netflix’s Global Top 10 when it debuted in August. In all, it had 19.9 million views in the first four days after it dropped and ranked in the top 10 in 93 countries. The show has remained in the Top 10 in the four weeks since.

The show’s creator, Darren Star, told Tudum: “We’re thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris.”

Star’s comment also points to where the plot in season 5 will go. It seems Emily will be continuing to spread her wings and spend more time in Rome as well as Paris. Star said the move is to “stay ahead of the audience and take them to unexpected places.”

Sensation

Emily in Paris, the story of an American marketing executive who moves to Paris to provide a US point of view for a French marketing firm, has been a sensation since it first hit screens in 2020. While it initially received mixed reviews, viewers took Emily to their hearts and it has consistently had high viewing figures ever since.
