- First trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines has arrived
- Sixth instalment will feel different to previous films
- Arriving in theaters to mark its 25th anniversary

The iconic horror series Final Destination is officially coming back to shock fans with more gruesome and creative deaths in 2025. The reboot is coming more than a decade after the franchise’s last film release.
The latest instalment has been in the works since 2019. Work was initially disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and then filming was halted by the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes in Hollywood.
However, in March 2024 producer Crag Perry – who has been a producer on all previous five films – confirmed that filming was finally underway and that the official title is Final Destination Bloodlines.
When is Final Destination Bloodlines released?
Final Destination Bloodlines will hit theaters on 16 May, 2025. Fittingly, it marks the 25th anniversary of the franchise. The original film, directed by James Wong and written by Jeffrey Reddick, came out in 2000.
Co-directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the film will also be available in IMAX formats, offering viewers the ultimate intense and fun experience that Final Destination films are known for.
Is there a trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines?
The first teaser for Final Destination Bloodlines arrived in early February.
In it, we meet a guy working in a tattoo and piercing parlour who has a pretty bad day. After a series of seemingly accidental instances, his night meets an unfortunate end – one that’s eerier similar to the events featured in the previous Final Destination movies.
What’s Final Destination Bloodlines about?

The official synopsis for Final Destination Bloodlines keeps much of its plot close to its chest.
It reads: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”
Guy Busick is at the writing helm, whose recent writing credits include horror movies Ready or Not (2019), Scream (2022) and Abigail (2024).
Considering 14 years have passed since Final Destination 5 and the horror genre has evolved in this period, we can expect a fresh approach to the films.

Rumors are suggesting that the film will focus on how Death could stalk the children of survivors, which certainly holds up considering the film’s title.
One thing we can be sure of is seeing many deaths prevented through premonitions and people meeting their untimely deaths in darkly humorous sequences. After all, these are the elements that made the films popular in the first place, and loyal fans will be hoping for more.
It can be argued that the format ran stale by 2011, but Final Destination: Bloodlines will want to honour its legacy and in doing so can attract a whole new generation of fans. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Who’s in the cast?

The late Tony Todd will reprise his role as mortician William Bludworth, who previously appeared in Final Destination, Final Destination 2 and Final Destination 5.
