Jacob Elordi is starring in a new drama, The Narrow Road to The Deep North

The actor will play Dorrigo Evans in the World War Two epic that premiered at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.

A trailer recently dropped to give a taste of the limited series, which was directed by Justin Kurtzel and written by Shaun Grant. Filming began in November 2023 and wrapped in March 2024.

Audiences got increasingly hyped when it dropped to a perfect 100 score on Rotten Tomatoes.

When will the Jacob Elordi-fronted show be released?

The series will land on Amazon Prime in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In the UK, it will air on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.

A buyer for US audiences is yet to be found, but it is still possible and still incredibly likely due to the rave reviews it got at the Berinale. Americans can’t miss the talk of the festival.

What is it about?

The plot comes from the Booker Prize-winning novel written by Richard Flanagan. It tells the story of a war veteran and POW life via his love affair with Amy Mulvaney.

Following his release from military service, he later became a surgeon and icon of war bravery for his time in a Japanese military prison.

“The character of Dorrigo Evans requires a multi-layered actor who can bring strength, sensitivity and charisma to the role – qualities Jacob has in spades,” producer Jo Porter said of his casting to Deadline. “Together with the creative powerhouses of Justin Kurzel and Shaun Grant, there couldn’t be a more exciting team to bring this important novel to life.”
