• Star of the Transformers One movie spoke exclusively to Pubity on the red carpet
  • Scarlett Johansson reveals the difficulties of making animated movies
  • Also revealed how her attempt at beekeeping went

Scarlett Johansson is one of the stars of the new animated Transformers One movie – and the experience is quite different to making live action films, she told Pubity.

Different experiences

Speaking to Pubity’s James Burtenshaw on the red carpet at the premiere of Transformers One, Scarlett talked about the differences between making animated and live action movies.

“The biggest difference is that you are isolated and not with other actors most of the time,” she said. “The only time I was with a group of actors in a room was when I did the Spongebob Squarepants movie and that was such an awesome experience as everyone was doing the voices.

“But the process is long, it takes a long time to make an animated movie compared to a live action movie and you see it in these little chunks and you really have to use your imagination as it could just be a concept, there isn’t a lot there and as it goes on, over a couple of years you start to see the process come together.”

With a character called Bumblebee in the movie, Pubity asked about her and co-star Chris Hemsworth’s attempts at beekeeping.

“The bees I had abandoned the hive I didn’t know they did that, so I am a bad beekeeper clearly,” she said. “I thought you just had the hive and they would come and go as they please but you have to actually keep the bees. They went onto a better place, I’m hoping.”

Probably best she sticks to acting.

Changing fates

Transformers One is in theaters from today (September 20). The movie explores the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron and how they changed the fate of their home planet, Cybertron. You can watch the trailer here:
