- King Charles III will release a playlist in collaboration with Apple Music
- The curation will be in celebration of Commonwealth Day
- Fans have reacted to news of The King’s Music Room, which will feature artists including Kylie Minogue, Bob Marley and Raye

It’s the collaboration that we didn’t see coming – but on March 7, it was announced that King Charles III has teamed up with Apple Music.
The British monarch, 76, has curated a playlist called The King’s Music Room, which will launch at 6pm GMT on Monday, March 10.
In a video to accompany the announcement, Charles said, “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories, comfort us in times of sadness and to take us to distant places.
“But perhaps above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.”
He continued, “So this is what I particularly wanted to share with you, songs which have brought me joy. This seemed such an interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth Day.
“Thank you for listening, I wish you all every possible blessing.”
‘Bro thinks he’s Obama!’

Royal fans took to social media to express their excitement for the podcast.
“What a gracious sovereign he’s turned out to be,” wrote one. “The late Queen would be proud. God save the King. May we be blessed with a King and happy reign.”
While others said that the King is “so genuinely likeable”, someone else added, “It is so refreshing to know that King Charles wants to share some of his favourite music.”
Others expressed that “we are all missing some good music and light-hearted vibes”, as another person laughed that “King Charles’ music selection wasn’t in my Bingo card for 2025!”
While he may arguably be the most famous monarch in the world, some couldn’t help comparing him to another world leader.
“Bro thinks he’s Obama,” one joked, referencing the former US President’s annual summer playlist.
“Royal mixtape about to drop omg,” laughed another, while someone else thought Charles was less Obama, and more like a pesky ex-boyfriend.
“Why is the King sending me his playlist,” they queried.
Fans guess who will feature on King Charles III’s playlist

Said to be a celebration of music from across the Commonwealth, The King’s Music Room will reportedly include genres such as 1930s crooners, Afrobeats, disco and reggae.
We already know that the playlist will feature music from Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido and RAYE – but fans couldn’t resist guessing who else may be included.
“Can’t wait to hear all the heavy metal that Charles is into. Do we think he’s a Metallica or Megadeth kinda guy?” questioned one.
Another thoughtfully suggested “Sex Pistols – God Save the Queen”, as someone else thought Charles had found inspiration in rap music.
“Little did Nicki Minaj know who she would inspire when she launched Queen’s Radio,” they said.
Others couldn’t help but praise the King’s music taste.
“Now the KING being a reggae fan was DEFINITELY not on my bingo card,” they admitted. “My already exceedingly high opinion of him has just increased even further. God Save the King!”
