Sabrina Carpenter has a legion of fans from across the globe.
But when it comes to being a fangirl herself the Espresso singer has made no secret of her love for one musical icon – Miley Cyrus.
So we’re sure Carpenter, 25, was screaming inside on February 4 – when Cyrus, 32, included a photo of the pair of them together in an Instagram round-up of the Grammy awards.
While Carpenter bagged two gongs on the night, fans are convinced that her real highlight was chatting with Cyrus.
“Someone check if Sabrina is ok,” one fan joked, while another added, “WE NEED A SABRINA COLLAB PLS.”
Branding the pair “two queens”, another fan labelled them both “Disney icons” after launching their careers on the channel.
But many diehard fans will know that this isn’t the first time Cyrus and Carpenter have met.
Entering a competition when she was around nine-years-old, Carpenter made it to the top three of a Miley Cyrus singing contest:
“Only OG’s who’ve been listening to Sabrina’s music before Emails I Can’t Send and Short n’ Sweet know she was in Miley’s singing competition The Next Miley Cyrus Project at the age of 9,” one fan proudly wrote.
Another added, “Miley and Sabrina. I remember Sabrina started her career thanks to you! She was competing in MILEYWORLD and she was posting covers on your songs and after it she was noticed. This is such a full circle moment. Miley raised an entire generation.”

Carpenter has previously opened up about her experience first meeting her idol.
During an interview with MTV UK, she said, “When I was ten years [old] it was Miley Cyrus. I was wearing a fedora when I met her and I regret it entirely. She had a cold but she was super sweet to me when I met her and I’ll never forget that.”
And in an interview last year, Carpenter asked fans who they thought she would collaborate with in the future.
When one revealed they would love to see her perform with Cyrus, she responded, “I mean, that’s like my childhood poster girl. I love, love Miley.”
Sabrina Carpenter teases collaboration with Dolly Parton
While we patiently await a collaboration between her and Cyrus, on February 4, Carpenter did announce that she is set to release a song with someone very close to her idol’s heart… Dolly Parton.
Parton is godmother to Cyrus, and also starred in her hit TV show, Hannah Montana.
As a special “thank you” to fans, Carpenter revealed that she will release a deluxe version of her album, Short n’ Sweet – and a remix of her hit Please Please Please will feature Parton.
Sharing the news to her 44.2 million Instagram followers, Carpenter wrote, “As a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammys. Short n’ Sweet deluxe is now available for pre-order… and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton.”
She excitedly added, “She wouldn’t want me to swear, but holy s***!!!!!”
As well as the reworked Please Please Please, Carpenter’s deluxe album will include another four songs – titled 15 Minutes, Couldn’t Make It Any Harder, Busy Woman and Bad Reviews.
