With the first trailer for the third instalment of the Deadpool trilogy having dropped, anticipation for the film is increasing. Now we know of eight actors that will be appearing.

The film, which is now titled Deadpool and Wolverine, brings the merc with the mouth into the MCU, and there have been rumours and theories aplenty about who will be appearing – and which character they will play.

But here are eight who are slated to appear and play significant parts in the film.

Let’s get the obvious ones out of the way first: Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be starring. It is thought the plot will be another multiverse adventure, which explains his entry into the MCU, but also ties in with the end of Deadpool 2 when he meddled with time to bring several dead characters back to life.

For Wolverine – appearing in a comic-book accurate suit for the first time – the story takes place before the events that led to his death in 2017’s Logan.

Emma Corrin will be appearing in the movie, although as which character has yet to be confirmed. It is known she will play the main villain, however.

Another newcomer is Mathew Macfadyen, who plays Paradox, a TVA agent that abducts Wade from his timeline and gives him the chance to enter the MCU.

There will also be plenty of returning faces in Deadpool and Wolverine. For instance, Wade Wilson’s love interest, Vanessa – played by Morena Baccarin – is appearing, having been brought back from the dead by Deadpool at the end of Deadpool 2.

Rob Delany’s Peter is another returnee from the dead. He was seen in the trailer at Wade’s birthday party, but his significance has yet to be confirmed.

Blind Al, Wade Wilson’s former roommate, played by Leslie Uggams, was another to appear in the birthday party scene of the trailer. Likewise taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) is back again.

Other confirmed characters include mutants Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna).

Of course, there are plenty more names yet to be revealed, so there could yet be some more surprises between now and when the film drops on July 25.
