Rockstar’s Milestone Success
Since the release of 2013 Grand Theft Auto V has exceptionally contributed to the Rockstar games and overall GTA series. Recently it has achieved the new groundbreaking milestone- sold 205 million copies over all these years (11 years in total). During the Q2 Fiscal Year 2025 Conference Call, It Take-Two Interactive shared this pleasing news,
“Sales of Grand Theft Auto V outperformed our expectations and, to date, the title has sold in more than 205 million units worldwide.”
The game’s unique appeal lies in its combination of thrilling gameplay, memorable characters, interactive storyline, intriguing and action-packed missions, and the open world where players can move freely- they can either fight with goons or roam around under the alluring city lights.
GTA Online Continues to Engage Players
This game has a lot to offer that players can’t get over it even by playing repeatedly. With the addition of GTA Online, the content continues to evolve- keeping the game lively and updated. The company mentioned,
“Grand Theft Auto Online also exceeded our plans, driven by sustained engagement with the Summer content pack Bottom Dollar Bounties, and an array of updates including the new, multi-stage Assault on ATT-16 mode, and experience improvements such as a new anti-cheat system for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Online. Momentum also continued within GTA+, as Rockstar grew its membership by 35% over last year, and added the classic title, Bully, to the library of available games.”
Looking Forward: GTA VI and PC Upgrades
Although the GTA series has collectively sold 453 million copies, GTA 5 still holds most of the weight here, As per GameRant. As for the future fans are gearing up to grab GTA 6 in the coming year, it is confirmed that it will be released in Fall 2025 for console devices. Take-Two Interactive said,
“Looking ahead, we expect Fiscal 2026 to be a milestone year, as we plan to release several blockbuster titles, including Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall of 2025.”
