It had to happen: viral sensation the Hawk Tuah girl – real name Haliey Welch – is reportedly in talks with TV companies about starring in a reality show based on her life.
TMZ has reported that various well-known showrunners and producers have reached out to Welch and those helping her to handle her new-found stardom to discuss the potential for developing a show as a vehicle for her.
Viral sensation
To quickly recap, for those who may have been living in a cave in the woods recently, Welch shot to fame after appearing in a vox-pop interview by Tim & Dee TV. In answering the question ‘what’s the one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?’ she responded: “You gotta give ‘em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang.”
The clip went viral around the world and since then, Welch has been riding the crest of it, including recently meeting basketball legend Shaquille O’Neill, seemingly making the most of her notoriety as it could be fleeting.
Turning heads
But one clip alone isn’t enough to get producers interested in investing in making a show. Her appearances on podcasts such as Barstool with Brianna LaPaglia, where she has come across as funny and relatable, have helped to turn heads, according to TMZ’s unnamed sources.
Welch has also reportedly filed trademarks relating to her now-famous phrase and has previously indicated she was considering moving into stand-up comedy. However, the lady herself has yet to say anything publicly on the rumors about landing her own reality show.
