Hugely popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat won four awards at the Streamer of the Year Awards this weekend – but how much do you know about him?

Kai Cenat has already had cause for celebration this year, as the streamer has broken numerous Twitch records in the past 12 months with his content, such as the Mafiathon series, but now he has more – by taking four gongs at the Streamer of the Year Awards.
While Kai’s friend and rival Darren Watkins – better known as iShowSpeed – took the Streamer of the Year award, Kai won awards in the Best Collab, Best Marathon, Best Streamed Event and Best Just Chatting Streamer categories.
Kai delivered several acceptance speeches, which included thanks to the community that voted for him, but also of the importance of looking after your mental health, following his own hiatus from Twitch to focus on “things going through his head”.
But how much do you know about one of the biggest streamers in the world? Here are some facts you might not know.
He’s broken multiple Twitch records
Kai has broken numerous records on Twitch over the past few years and this year. For instance, he was the first streamer to hit the 1 million active subscribers mark earlier in 2025. he also has more than 20 million followers, making him the most followed channel on the platform.
He popularised a word of the year
Kai is credited as the person who popularised the word ‘rizz’ – a slang term which is derived from the word charisma and is defined as meaning ‘style, charm or attractiveness. Rizz was named as the prestigious Oxford University Press’ word of the year in 2023.
In addition, Kai also helped to popularise the word ‘gyat’, derived from ‘Goddamn’ – used to refer to someone with prominent buttocks – which was on the shortlist for the American Dialect Society’s word of the year in 2023.
He’s appeared at WWE
Kai is well known for being a WWE fan – he’s been spotted ringside with other members of the AMP Group he is part of – so it wasn’t a huge surprise when he appeared at the Royal Rumble 2025. He received a huge welcome from the crowd and interacted with commentator Pat McAfee.
He also appeared on Raw, where he challenged fellow WWE fan iShowSpeed to a showdown, but nothing has materialised on that front – as yet.
While Kai has said he would like to become a wrestler, he is concentrating on his streaming career – at least for the time being – but may make guest appearances in the future.
He has a huge net worth
Being one of the most popular Streamers in the world has meant that Kai has amassed a fortune in the past five years. It has been reported he earns about $3 million per year from Twitch.
But Kai has many other revenue streams, including YouTube ad revenue, sponsorships and collaborations with high profile brands, merchandise sales and event appearances.
Estimates of Kai’s net worth vary markedly – from $14 million to $35 million – but whatever the amount, he’s certainly doing well.
He has been in Fortnite
Kai has also been featured in the online battle royale game Fortnite. He was added as a skin as part of the Icon Series in September of this year. Two outfits were available – OG and AMP Kai – along with matching back blings, weapons, emotes and a wrap. His skin could be downloaded from the Item Shop.
He’s a college dropout
Being a successful content creator isn’t easy – and to get to the heights that Kai has, it is a full-time job and more. Kai did start university – State University of New York at Morrisville – to study business administration in 2019, but he quit a year later as his Twitch career took off and took up more of his time. Given his success, I think we can say he made the right decision.
