- IShowSpeed celebrated with his brother Jamal
- Speed has 39.5m subscribers on YouTube
- “Congratulations, bro”

It turns out IShowSpeed isn’t the only successful YouTube streamer in his family.
This past Friday, Speed’s younger brother, Jamal, passed the 100,000 subscriber mark and his older, ever-viral brother was there to help him celebrate the milestone.
Of course, the moment was captured live on stream, with Speed walking into Jamal’s room and saying, “Wait, I think you hit 100k,” to which Jamal replied, “Did I?”

When the realisation dawns on the brothers that the milestone has been hit, they embrace in celebration, screaming “oh my God!” before Jamal shouts “let’s go!”
In a touching moment, Speed says, “I love you, bro,” to which Jamal responds, “Bro, I love you, man. Thank you for making this work, before Speed says “Congratulations, bro.”
Jamal, who’s real name is reportedly Dian Watkins (although he also goes by DayDay) according to Complex, has appeared in a few of his brother’s streams although, back in October of last year, Jamal said he didn’t want to appear in Speed’s streams any more as he gets “ticked off” when people mention his brother’s popularity.
IShowSpeed Is Shaping Up For A Huge 2025
“Let’s say I wanna be a regular kid. I wanna do stuff without a famous brother, let’s say that. I wanna do my own stuff, I don’t wanna have my brother be the main center of attention like every time I go to school. They bring up Speed and you know, yadda yadda yadda, it ticks me off.”
Jamal’s newfound success builds on an incredible 2024 for IShowSpeed and which culminated in him taking three awards at the 2024 Streamer Awards, last year. Speed won Streamer of the Year, Best International Streamer and the Get Off Your A** Award, which recognizes the best IRL streamers.
IShowSpeed first began uploading gameplay videos to his YouTube channel in 2016. Initially, this was sporadic – he was still in school – but in December 2017 he started to livestream and upload videos too. Initially they had very small viewing figures.
It wasn’t until the COVID pandemic in 2020 that his career started to take off. Initially he focused on gaming videos, usually NBA 2K20 and 2k21, before expanding into Fortnite and Five Nights at Freddy’s. In June 2021, he hit the 1 million subscribers milestone on YouTube. In 2021, he is also said to have made his first $1 million.
As his fame grew, IShowSpeed started to branch out away from purely gaming content to include stunts, physical feats and Parkour.
