Is it really 10 years since John Wick came out of retirement? It is – and fans can enjoy the first cinematic encounter with the assassin again in theaters in November.

Relive the action

On November 3 and 6, John Wick will be available to see in select theaters in the US thanks to Lionsgate and Fathom Events.

Fans can relive the re-emergence of the former hit man. Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, was happily retired from the assassination game, married and living a normal life. But after his wife dies, he is attacked by Russian thugs who steal his car and kill his puppy. Hellbent on revenge, Wick returns to his old life to kill those who attacked him, which sets off a chain of events in the criminal underworld.

In addition to the film, viewers will be treated to a first look at the upcoming film Ballerina, which is set in the John Wick universe. The show will focus on Eve Macarro, played by Ana de Armas, a dancer who trains to be an assassin with the Ruska Roma criminal organization. In the universe timeline, it is set during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Watch a trailer for Ballerina here.

John Wick was a huge hit when it was first released, grossing more than $86 million at the box office – about three times more than the film’s budget. It also reestablished Reeves as an action hero.

Expanding universe

Since that first film, there have been three more John Wick movies, and a fifth movie is currently in the works. There has also been spinoff TV series, The Continental: From the World of John Wick, set in the 1970s and focusing on a young Winston. That show ran on Peacock in 2023.

There are other shows set in the John Wick universe in development. This includes at series about the High Table, as well as an anime show.
