Who is Jojo Siwa?

Early life
Joelle Joanie Siwa was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on 19 May 2003. She was born to Jessalynn Siwa, a dance instructor, and Tom Siwa, a chiropractor. The 21-year-old has one sibling, an older brother named Jayden, who was a vlogger but is no longer involved in social media.
Career
From a young age, Siwa was familiar with Abby Lee Miller, the creator of her future dance studio. To Miller, she became recognizable when she finished in the top five in Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. Later, she auditioned for Dance Moms and appeared on seasons five and six.
During that time, the Celebrity Big Brother star inspired the classic “Jojo, no” meme.
In 2016, Siwa turned to music and released her debut single Boomerang. Then she released another song I Can Make U Dance. Boomerang was considered a hit for Siwa, who was 13 then. The video now has over a billion views!
Known for her signature colorful and childish style, Siwa became a child-friendly brand. In Claire’s in 2016, she launched a range of bows, and in 2018, she released a line of accessories with J.C. Penney.
Nickelodeon signed Siwa in 2017 and she appeared in the film Blurt! that year. Leading into the 2020s, she appeared on a season of The Masked Singer and was a playable character in two Nickelodeon Kart Racer games.
Remarkably, Siwa made Time’s list of The 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2020 and 2021.
She competed on Dancing With the Stars in the first same-sex dancer partnership in 2021 and placed second. Following her Dancing with the Stars stint, Siwa was a judge on a season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2022 and again the next year.
Since Siwa had been tied to a childlike image for years, she shed the image in 2024 when she released her first single as an adult, Karma. Karma was relentlessly mocked online, but it did well in terms of streaming, even if it became a meme.
Jojo Siwa – Guilty Pleasure EP and Celebrity Big Brother
After the release of Karma, Siwa released her EP Guilty Pleasure in July 2024. However, the music was not received well by audiences. Regardless it did cement Siwa as an adult artist in the queer space. Consequently, Siwa has become synonymous with gay pop, whether fans like it or not.
Siwa’s love life
To begin with, Siwa was known for her music. In addition to her music, she is known for her public love life. In 2021, Siwa came out as queer. Subsequently, she debuted her messy relationship with Kylie Prew, which lasted until June 2022.
Two months later, she began dating social media star Avery Cyrus, whom she dated until December 2022. Briefly, she then dated dancer Dakayla Wilson from August to November 2024.
