Rock star Jon Bon Jovi has been praised for his role in helping a woman in distress to climb down from the edge of a bridge in Nashville.
Bridge drama
In a video shared on social media by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Bon Jovi, 62, can be seen at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge go over to a woman who was stood on the outer ledge of the bridge.
Bon Jovi approached the woman, along with several other pedestrians. The star then appeared to wave hello to the woman and leaned on the railing near to her and engaged her in conversation. About a minute later, Bon Jovi walked over to the woman, and, assisted by another woman, helped her back over the ledge and onto the pedestrian walkway.
Once the woman was safe, she embraced Bon Jovi. They then left the bridge together.
Bon Jovi was apparently on the bridge to film a music video, according to the BBC. He was there with members of his team, who appeared to be setting up camera equipment before the incident unfolded.
Keep each other safe
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department posted the video of the incident on X (formerly Twitter) with the accompanying post: “A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” – Chief John Drake.
Earlier this year, Bon Jovi was in the news when his son, Jake Bongiovi, married Stranger Things star Millie Bobbie Brown.
