Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has set a new record on the platform with 500,000 simultaneous subscribers – the first to hit the milestone.

Record breaker

The moment came during Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 Subathon, which is currently ongoing. Cenat’s previous record was 312,000 subscribers, while the overall record belonged to Ironmouse, who had 326,252 peak subs during her own subathon in October.

Cenat began the Mafiathon 2 Subathon not long after Ironmouse had beaten his previous record.

But as well as the subscriber record, Cenat is posting huge numbers on Twitch through his subathon. SullyGnome has reported he has gained more than 1.25 million followers and it has generated some 60 million hours watched, at the time of writing. He also has an average of more than 108,000 viewers.

When Cenat reached the milestone, he celebrated live with party poppers and confetti. He also thanked his subscribers saying: “Every time that I do feel tired, or it’s tough, and we got 8 more days left… y’all always prove to me why I should keep going.”

Cenat could break his own record again as his subathon doesn’t end until this weekend.

Big names

Centa now has 13.5 million followers on Twitch and is one of the biggest names on the platform. He was named ‘Streamer of the Year’ in 2022 and 2023 at the streamer awards. He has also been nominated for five awards at the upcoming Streamer Awards, which is a record.

Earlier this year, one of the other biggest streamers on Twitch, Ninja, was diagnosed with melanoma. Fortunately it was caught early and the streamer has made a full recovery. He urged his followers to ensure they get their skin checked regularly.
