First, space travel, and now trolling. Currently, singer Katy Perry, 40, is being trolled after a video from her Lifetimes Tour went viral. Meanwhile, online users clowned the singer during her performance of her hit Part Of Me.

Previously, after going to space, the singer made headlines when she jetted off on an 11-minute trip in Jeff Bezos’ New Shepard rocket. Relentlessly, she was trolled on X for her reaction to the trip. Additionally, celebrities even chimed in and slammed the wasteful trip.

Subsequently, Emily Ratajkowski, 32, called out the space trip and the “exploitation” it is built on through Bezos’ funding. However, others saw the trip as harmless fun and a way to promote women in space.

At the same time, Perry is now busy on tour. Yet she is once again being mocked. Find out why she was mocked here, and what the internet had to say about her performance.

Recently, in a video that has been reposted on X, Perry is performing Part of Me on tour. Then, during a dance break, Perry moves along in a futuristic-looking set as drums play for almost a minute.

Notably, she has exaggerated facial expressions that lean into the futuristic vibe of the tour.

Despite the crowd applauding the singer, the video has done the rounds online, and the internet has trolled her for her performance.

Memes galore over Katy Perry dancing

In one comment, a fan attached a GIF of someone dancing and wrote, “Exactly the same vibes”.

In a similar comment, another user used the “same vibes” caption with a GIF from the viral breakdancer at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Another user asked, “Are dance moves in the same room with us?”

One fed-up user ordered their followers to “stop sharing the Katy Perry dancing video”.

In defence of her…

However, many Katy Cats defended the singer from online criticism.

In response to the online hate, one user declared, “I love how she doesn’t care and she enjoys the moment.”

A second user defended Perry’s choreography, calling it intentional. “I believe it was choreographed to look like a video game character, the applause and mimics reflect that too. So it’s okay, but I must admit the getting up part is quite messy,” they said.

Thirdly, a user replied to the video, “She’s being a goofball. The Katy hate is getting boring.”

As a result of the video, Perry has been getting lots of hate. However, that does not mean it is justified. But the internet is entitled to their opinions, you just don’t need to be mean about it!
